The POSTNET™ Barcode Discontinuation proposed rule is posted on the Federal Register website and on the Postal Explorer®website under Federal Register. The proposed rule includes the basis for discontinuing use of POSTNET™ barcodes and allowing only Intelligent Mail® barcodes (IMb™) for automation price eligibility by January 2013. The Postal Service™ understands that many mailers currently use POSTNET barcodes, and we are committed to providing information to and working with individual mailers and software providers to ensure that the use of an Intelligent Mail barcode is achievable for all mailing customers. We look forward to your comments.
